A Roman Catholic Apostolic Church, the Parish of Saint Louis King of France of Mirebalais was founded in the 18th century, around 1728, a few years after the foundation of the City of Mirebalais in 1702 by the French during colonial times.

It is located in the heart of the city. It is one of the oldest parishes in the Diocese of Hinche and Haiti. It is dedicated to Saint-Louis King of France and celebrates its patron saint every August 25. It has known more than a hundred parish priests and more than 200 vicars since its foundation.
